Dental Assistant Program

Admissions Requirements

An applicant must speak and read English. An enrollment application must be completed prior to admission.

Refund Policy

If a student cancels prior to the start of their program all monies paid, except the non-refundable registration and book/supply fee, will be returned. If student cancels, withdraws or is dismissed after class begins, no refund will be due. Students who wish to withdraw from the program should do so in writing. Eligible refunds are based on the last date of verifiable attendance. If you cancel within 3 days of signing this agreement, all monies paid will be refunded.

Termination/Cancellation

Students will be dismissed on the following grounds:
  • Failure to maintain standards of attendance
  • Non conformity to our rules and policies regarding the use and possession of alcohol or controlled drugs
  • Intentional disruption of school activities
  • Deliberate dishonesty
  • Violation of the law

Course Description

Title
101 Introduction to Dental Profession
Learn about the dental assistant as part of the dental team. Learn infection control. Learn job interview and resume writing skills.
102 Anatomy of the Mouth
Learn tooth anatomy. Learn charting techniques. Learn instrument transfer techniques.
103 Chairside Fundamentals
Learn how to prepare the patient. Learn how to prepare dental liners and cements.
104 Chairside Assisting
Learn preliminary examination. Learn basic instrumentation. Learn alginate impressions and dental prophylaxis.
105 Assisting with Dental Procedures
Learn assisting with basic procedures, dam application and restorations. Blood Pressure/Pulse.
106 Chairside Equipment
Learn assisting techniques and various instruments and equipment.
107 Dental Specialties
Learn assisting with orthodontics, periodontics and minor surgical procedures.
108 Dental Laboratory Procedures
Learn about bleaching and whitening procedures.
109 Dental Radiation
Learn safety procedures

Total Course Time - 60 Clock Hours

Grading Policy

A = 90%-100% excellent
B = 80%-89% very good
C = 70%-79% good
F = 69% or below failing

Graduation Requirements

Certificate of completion will be issued upon successful completion (70%) of course and all financial obligations met.
